Types of Wood
The frequently used trees for wood craftwork manufacturing are ash, oak, pine, spruce, hard maple, birch, wychelm, beech, cedar, camphor, teak, maranti, mahogany etc. The frequently used wood-made materials are flakeboard, fiberboard, plywood and lumbercore plywood. The frequently used finishing materials are veneer, plastic thin film, decorative board, synthetic resin paper and printing decorative paper.
- Alnus cremastogyne Burkill
- Feature: no significant difference between wood core and wood edge, straight grain, thin and loose structure, no big warpage and split, easy of dryness, easy for shaping after dryness, yellow color, it turns fawn with the passing of time.
- Ash
- Features: beautiful grain, hard in texture and heavy in weight, thin in structure, strong in toughness, easy of processing, good agglutinating performance, ordinary in dryness.
- Beech
- Features: hard in texture, straight grain, thin in structure, wearable and glossy, it is not easy to get distorted when being dried, good at agglutinating performance.
- Birch
- Features: hard in texture and heavy in weight, thin in structure, strong in intensity, good for agglutination and processing.
- Chinese Guger-tree
- Feature: distributed in Southern area of Mainland China; mainly used for wood craftwork manufacturing, furniture material; it is a fireproof tree species.
- Pine
- Feature: soft and light in texture, full of elasticity, thin and even in structure, good dryness, water stable, corrosion stable, good for agglutination.
- PADAUK
- Feature: thin in wood structure, red & purple color, beautiful and delicate grain.
- Rubberwood
- Feature: good performance in sanding and polishing, heavy shrinkage, easy of distorting, discoloring and worm decaying; wood core is dry and easy of split; it is not easy for dryness; it has a stable performance after anti-corrosion treatment.
- MDF(Medium Density Fireboard)
- Feature: medium density, hard and flat in surface, even in structure, smooth and stable surface, applicable for the manufacturing of wood box, high-class audio system and furniture.
